Hi all

Hope that you all had a great Christmas and New Year.

Just a quick e-mail to let you know that we have just received draft copies of the Landscape Seascape capacity for aquaculture and coastal infrastructure which we had commissioned for the Sound of Mull Project. It is currently missing a section of coastline which they have to go back and finish as well as summary tables for each of the areas in the Sound summarising what development would be suitable and where, but the majority of it is complete.

Some of you expressed an interest in seeing the draft at the last working group meeting. If you would like to read the draft and feed back any comments to me before the final report is produced please let me know and I will arrange to send you out a copy. The file is quite large (too big for e-mail) so it will need to come out to you on CD. We are aiming to get comments back to the consultant for the end of January to allow her to revise things if needed so could you please get any comments back to me by then.

Can I just use this opportunity to remind you that the idea of the report is to feed in to the plan as a layer of information, and how we decide to use this in the plan is still up for debate. Therefore, whilst you might disagree with some of the recommendations, these recommendations do not give a green or red light to development as it would still need to go through the due process and other factors would still need to be taken into account. I would be interested to know if you feel there are any omissions, mistakes, additional elements etc that would be useful.
